This week, our exhibitions for the audience survey winners at GEISAI#18 came to a close and we now begin exhibitions for the winners of the Jurors’ Personal Awards. First up is Jiro, who was recipient of the Aki Takanori Award. His booth at GEISAI#18 caught the eye with its powerful mix of wall hung paintings and standing acrylic panels.
Aki Takanori’s comments below:
“It was very difficult to select a recipient from among all these great artists, but Jiro’s work inspired me the most among the artworks nominated. Jiro has good painting skills. His painting of a woman standing upright screaming not only captured the emotions perfectly but was very visually stimulating. My company fabricates mostly solid objects but there was a lot I could take away with me from viewing his works.
I hope he keeps working and continues to expand his artistic universe
