GEISAI#10 was held on September 17, 2006 at Tokyo Big Sight’s East Hall 4. Here, Chairman Murakami delivers remarks at the opening ceremony.

After introducing the judges, we took a commemorative group photograph.

Visitors waiting eagerly in line for the doors to open.

With one line done, the visitors rushed to Kaikai Kiki’s booth where they found themselves in line again, waiting for authentic autographed posters by Takashi Murakami.

Ayako Rokkaku’s booth. This collector couple came all the way from the Netherlands for GEISAI and their enthusiasm showed.

At Hisashi Kondo’s booth, the artist stood weaving a self-portrait. Visitors were fascinated by watching him at work.

Hayata Keiko did embroidery on a floorcloth. Her work brought the sort of wry smiles you’d expect from a one panel manga.

Ai Kato’s booth. Is this cosplay? Or is she a real high school student?

Shintaro Ohata’s booth combined paintings and sculpture to create a uniquely mysterious atmosphere.

Moja Keiko’s booth. She became one with her stuffed toys.

Besides the posters available at the Kaikai Kiki booth, works by Aya Takano, Chinatsu Ban, and Mahomi Kunikata also proved quite popular from beginning to end.

Tomio Koyama’s booth featured these large, powerful paintings. There was also a live painting performance byToru Kuwakubo.
